I don't often comment on books as I believe reading is a very personal choice. My reading tastes are eclectic as you can see by my sidebar - I am not a reading snob and I will read whatever takes my eye - whether it be considered literature or the latest 'what's hot'.
As most of you know I work in a mainstream bookshop chain so I am exposed to lots and lots of genres - almost on a daily basis. We see lots of titles come and lots of titles barely remembered a year down the track. It seems that unless you are well known your shelf life is very limited.
In saying that this book Twilight - Stephenie Meyer - stood out from the pack so to speak...
I first heard about Twilight about 12 months ago when we had a run of largely teenage girls into the shop enquiring about it. Apparently it had hit the American reading public by storm but it had been a little slow off the ground in making it to Australian shores.
Twilight made its entrance a few months ago followed quickly by its sequel New Moon and then the third book Eclipse. I was intrigued by the book cover not your typical teenage fiction artwork
