Spring has sprung... And so I thought it fitting to re commence my blogging with this image of a block which I am fortunate to have shared working on with a group of ladies for a young girl in country Victoria...
M stated in her logbook that she loved butterflies... I discovered these in a scrap booking shop -they matched perfectly with the blue of the background of my chosen patch and it was my intention initally to do 'tone on tone'... However after using the coloured thread as the seam treatment I could see the potential of introducing more colour to the patch by colouring the butterflies... I unearthed my paints from my decorative/folk art phase and painted each one by layering the colour until I got the desired effect...
